Gathering of Internationals = SOCCER :)

We had a soccer-watching party tonight at Rafiki tonight to watch the Brazil vs. Argentina World Cup Qualifier match. It was the first ISA event of the year and was a HUGE success. There were over 35 people there!

Thanks to Paul for bringing the Matti (Argentine tea!) and to the Office of Multicultural Programs (OMP) for the leftover popcorn and hot dogs!

We are hoping to have another soccer night for the next big match! Leave a comment with any suggestions, comments, or adoration. Snide comments about the Brazilian soccer team are also welcome....(can you guess who I supported in tonight's match?!?).

Have a great Sunday everyone! You made it through the first week of classes. It all gets better and worse from here on out!

In Him,
Sari

The first two days!

Well, today is the second day of classes! Everybody I've talked to seems to be doing well; to those I haven't spoken to, I hope you're doing well also!

The weather has gotten a bit colder since last week and some of us (especially the new students!) and not too happy about it. I was a little bit worried that Tim and Andy were going to conduct hypothermia on Monday night at the outdoor movie...

On Saturday, the Rafiki House will be hosting a soccer-watching party on Saturday night from 8:30-10:30! We'll be watching the Brazil vs. Argentina game and spending some quality time together! Come if you can!!!

That's all for now. Homework is calling....

Coffee House!!! and Other Happenings :)

Last night was First-Year Coffee House. Three of our first-year ISA/MuKappa members performed.
Joseph wowed the crowd with his magic tricks!!
Andy sung a Chinese love song:
And Nate (on the right) played his guitar (August Rush-style, of course!)

Special thanks to Kyel McGrath for encouraging these guys to audition; they made ISA proud!!

The Opportunities Fair is this afternoon from 2:30 - 5. ISA/MuKappa will have a table! We're hoping to recruit many new members and get student input on what they'd like to see happen this semester!

Rafiki Party

Messiah College had a block party tongith. Rafiki House was one of the stops:

And though these pictures don't show it (becuase I was too busy participating to take any ;)), much more fun ensued including, henna tatoos and a live Regge band (at the Union), ping pong and tea drinking, followed by some Hindi, Latino and (yes! even,) some hip hop music and dancing.

Congratulations ISA/MuKappa new students on completing International Student Orientation! As the charge said last night, we are all committed to pray for, encourage, and love you!

Orientation Day 2 (Part 3)

Jacinth's dress was from Turkey and it was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!!!

Min's dress was pretty fantastic as well:

And Nate Marlowe's outfit from Cairo:

Well, you see, Tim didn't dress up, so he stole Nate's headband thingy and Carlo's Mexican flag so that he wouldn't feel left out:
